Ten years ago we had a prominent local remodeling company quote us $60,000.00 dollars for our kitchen PLUS the cost of appliances. Now with solid maple stained and glazed doors, new drawer boxes with whisper-quiet glides, a few new cabinets, new counter tops,sink & faucet, a new pantry and face frames extended to the ceiling our kitchen feels completely new and we SAVED NEARLY $40K in the process. Our very best friends just across the street had The Home Depot reface their cabinets, install new counter tops, sink & faucet...and it was DONE in 5 days. I wish we had done the same years ago!

A local store told us they could remove our old cabinets and replace with new cabinets and be done in "5 to 7 working days." FIVE MONTHS LATER THEY GOT DONE! Our torn-up kitchen/whole house was a nightmare. Our refrigerator was in the dining room along with our dishwasher, the living room held the stove & the microwave ended up in an upstairs bedroom. The TIME IT TOOK was a disaster. Here is the best advice I can give anyone thinking of remodeling their kitchen: RENT ANOTHER HOUSE & MOVE OUT, even if it takes 5 months, it will be worth it!
